Wheeler To Hurl InLegion ‘Star’ GameDenny Wheeler, a 6-1, 180-pound right . hander, from Newtown will pitch in tomorrow’s East . West American Legion All-Star game in Erie.Wheeler, who twirled for theNewtown Morell-Smith American Legion team in the Lower Bucks County American Legion for the past three summers. is expected to open on the mound for the East Stars.”The game, booked to start at 2 o’clock, will be held in Erie’s Ainsworth Stadium,Wheeler's 4th GameIt will be the fourth Legion .Ml-Star game for Wheeler, a pitcher who mixes the fast ball and curve cleverly. Wheeler performed in Doyles-town, Harleysville and Connie Mack Stadium in Philadelphia in the past month.He just mis?sed being named the most valuable player at Connie Mack Stadium. I missed it by one vote but Im really happy about pitching in the East-West game.
