INVADERSSHOW NOMERCYColored Champions Score At Wift In “Contest” Here Tuesday™- trjpHB colored speed merchants from Kansas City, Mo., playing baseball unde?: the name of the Monarch?, gave a demonstration how the game is played in big time when they swamped the Lima All-Stars under a 20 to 0 score Tuesday afternoon at Murphy Street park.The Lima boys who claimno championship, staggered, wobbled and almost went down under a barrage of 23 Monarch bingles which were converted into a score of tallies.Fans who went to the Lima park to see the game undoubtedly wanted to see the colored title holdei'S do their best stuff, andthe combined efforts of Joe Bowers, Sclnvartz and Leahy. Among their hits was a home run by Stearns, giant middle gardener, which cleared the right field wall. It was one of the longest hit balls ever seen at the local field. Allen, Monarch short stop, also showed himself to be a slugger as he hit the left field fence on three different occasions. Two of these drives went for doubles and the other went for a triple. Svery mail on the Kansas City club, with the exception of Joseph, got at least one safe blow.Bowers, the starting pitcher for Lima, pitched fairly good ball during tho five innings he was on the mound. Ilfs arm went lame, however, and when Don Schwartz went on the firing line his offerings were much to the delight of the colored boys, fie lasted 2 2-3innings and then Paul Leahey, who the day before had pitched a no-hit, no-run contest, took up the burden. It was the same story altho the Monarch collected but three hits off ' his delivery. Six bases on balls was the reason Leahey got into so much trouble.For the All-Stars Dove was the only man who could effectively solve McHenry's delivery. Doc collected two blows while Brennan, Leahey, Wrigley, j. Bowersone apiece.from that standpoint they were rewarded. There was no let up .'Three of the locals’ hits were ofand Greenland goton. the part of the invaders who proved themselves one of the hardest hitting aggregations that ever has performed at Murphy Street park.They collected 23 bingles off ofthe infield variety.Brennan and Brown provided the fielding features of the game.
