By VAUGHN HART Sports EditorThey say that the third time is the charm, and such was the case at the Missouri State Fair yesterday afternoon, when Ramo Stott, one of a long line of stock car drivers from Keokuk, Iowa, won the 100-mile United States Auto Club late model stock car feature.It was Stott's secofid feature victory in as many years at the Fairgroundr. He won here on a still date in April of 1973. on themile.“The conditions out here today were bad...real bad.” Stottsaid smiling after accepting the trophy. “The dust was bad too. especially if you knew you had a few slower cars in front of you,” he added.Stott took over the lead three times in the race, needless to say, the third time was the charm. He passed veteranITmio Horr on/dhorbit faster than me.” said runner-up Derr, “especially after his pit stop ”Following Stott and Derr across the finish line was Irv Janey. Cedar Rapids, Iowa, who led the race at one time. Fourth went to Norm Nelson. Racine. Wis., the current division leader. Ken Rowley, Bloomington. 111., placed fifthAll of the first seven cars were Chrysler products.Butch Hartman, seeking his fourth straight USAC national stock car championship, placed seventh behind Paul Feldner.
