Bunching hits in the second and third innings, Brainerd scored all its runs in these two innings to defeat the touring Nebraska Indians 6 to 5 at new Bane park last night.Capitalizing on the invaders’ er-Jratic play in the early innings, the city team pushed across their markers early and held their lead throughout the game. Four mis-cues, together with several timely hits, brought victory for the local Jmtflt in the early stanzas.The Nebraska Indians, a colorful •outfit, outhit the city team 11 to 8. They pushed across two markers in the first and then went scoreless until the sixth when they began a run an inning spree until the ninth when Richmond relieved Jarboe to halt the Indians’ threat.Jarboe pitched brilliantly throughout the game. He kept the Indians’ hits well scattered after the first r inning.Only one miscue was chalked up against Brainerd, the entire team playing masterful ball, clicking in fine style.Next Monday, the Brainerd city team meets the vaunted House of David under the arc lights. It will be the first game played under artificial light here. With them will be the veteran major leaguer, Grover Cleveland Alexander, who spent 20 years in the big time and amassed a galaxy of records that will stand for some time.
