The fiERJia? \x the Wab.-~The Germans of America bate won the eternal gratitude of iheir adopted country, by the prompt and efficient patriotism (hoy have exhibited in cbig great D'ltionai emergency They ara nclivcdy at work west and East, and take to mitt tary duty as those who are “to the manner born.’’ A correspondent of a St. Louis paper Kays:The Turners ofdt.* Louis have issueJ a call to all the Turners jo the Union to send on recruit^ for a turner regiment, to form a part of Sigel’s brigade; the Fremont regiment of Germans in Kew York is also expected to join; a Swiss regiment now forming in oar city, ig rapidly filling up for the same purpose,/and large numbers of Germans from Iowa and Illinois arc cocstantly arriving td enlist under Sigel’a name. A German regiment, now forming in Buffalo, and another one from Cincinnati, will probably tender their services shortly; indc-d, the enthemsm'haa spread all the way to California, where the Germans of 18A8have beard with delight of the battle of Carthage, and the hero of it, their old leader, Fran* Sigel.
