Attempting to make a speed record on the paved course of the Tacoma Speedway, w here the big Moiita marathon races were held, Harry Jacobs of Tacoma. 20 years old, fell from his motorcycle while driving at a 60-mil* per hour speed yesterday afternoon mdjecaived injuries from which he died three houra later. His aktill was fractured and several bones were broken.Jacobs, who is employed by W. P. Glasgow, a motorcycle agent, went to the track with Glasgow's machine to race with another motorcyclist who was circling the paved saucer. Passing the grandstand at a mile a minute clip, Jacobs lost control of his machine, it wobbled, darted from side to side, and theu upset. He was hurried to dt. Joseph’s hospital, where Dr. W. B. McGreery attended him, but his injuries were fatal.The youth was the son of Mr. and Mrs. George P. Jacobs, 706 Grant avenue, and was an expert cyclist. The cause of his tumble is not known.
