St. Isidore-BenedictTie Church Champs After Salem WinSalem Lutheran, playing excellent ball, dumped lirst place St. Isidore into a two-way tie with St. Benedict for first place in the Greater Blue Island Church 16” Softball League by a score of 7 to 6, Tuesday evening, Aug. 4.In other games played last week St. Donatus defeated Mission Covenant 15 to 8, St. Paul won over Ev. Community 19 to 14, Salem Lutheran took an easy one from Grace Methodist 14 to 3. St. Benedict defeated First Lutheran 15 to 10, First Lutheran defeated Siloam Lutheran 9 to 4, and the Mission Covenant-St. Isidore game, Ev. Community - St. Benedict game were rained out.Rained-out and play-off games will be played on Aug. 27. 28 and 29 at City Stadium and Roll’s Field. All-Star and League Winners will play a nine inning game at City Stadium Aug. 30 at 6:30 p m preceeded by trophy awards.The present lineups for the league: |j|fST.
