Webb, manager of the American Land Loan Co., has just closed quite an import ant deal in farm lands near Winnipeg, selling over 2,500 acres near Dufrost on the G. P. R , forty miles from the city, to Mr. Ed. Ballard, the noted American club house man. Mr. Ballard inaddition to owning and operating the largest club houses in America, is also one of the principal bankers in Chicago. He paid in the neighborhocd of ^20 per acre for this land and intends to establish a large horse ranch on the same, under the direction of Joseph A. Hall, an old ezperi enced horse man from Indiana.
