In other g 1 games Waycross won 7-4 from Cordele and Albany defeated Moultrie 11-5.Lee Beran relieved Brunswick starter W3rren in the second inning and struck out 11 Americus batters in recording his victory. A big six run rally in the fifth iced the game for the Pirates and chased starter Ash from the hill.Tifton blew up in the ninth inning allowing three unearned Dod* ger runs on three errors. Until then it was a 2-1 pitchers battle between Valdosta’s Bob Hoffman and Tifton’s'Bob Betancourt. Hoff man allowed four hits while Be-taneourt was tagged for seven.Waycross went on a 14-hit spree to turn back Cordele. Second sae-ker Charlie Webb was the big batter with three singles in five trips.George Bethea was the winner although needing relief in the ninth when Cordele got a pair of tallies. Bethea allowed seven hits Vereault was charged with thedefeat.At Albany Johnny Herbik was not so effective against the Cardinals as the St. Louis farm team rapped a total of 16 hits for their one sided win. Albany’s Gil Daley led the attack with a triple, double, and two singles, batting in three runs.
