Mich., and the Westinghouse Electrics favored the bewkiskered visitors by a 11 to 7 score.Last night’s attendance was the largest to see a diamond struggle in this city in years and years, and the kind of action that he patrons viewed under the lights was thrilling, even though errors were rather frequent.Manager Ziegler's performers attained the lead only once during the fracas, but they remained within striking distance ot the visitors’ score until the sixth when the bearded, stars trotted five runs across the platter to cinch he decision.* * * * *Miss “Jackie” Mitchell Pitches First Inningdamage.IMISS “JACKIE” MITCHELL, talented feminine pitcher, who hails from Chattanooga, with the reputation of having struck out Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig, j on the hill, throwing her slow started on the mound for the: southpaw “slants.” Doubles by-disciples of the late “King” Ben- Shaeffer and Monley, a single byZiegler’s pit- pounders evened the count in their half of the opening inning with Miss Mitchell on the hill, throwing hejamin Purnell, and toiled one inning. He was rescued by Geiger after five runs had been tallied in the. sixth, with only one out. The ex-Newark ace got the next two men to retire the side, and then he went on to hold the colorful visiting aggregation to two hits and the same number of runs in the next three frames. Th° Benton Harbor club, play-other tally in the second, with the Electrics tleing it up again in the third with lioss’ triple and Durant’s long fly to La Fleur in center.The iocal athletes grabbed the lead in the fourth, scoring a run. when Shaeffer. who reached first cn La Fleur's bobble, went home on Moxley’s husky triple.Tis lead was short-lived, however. The bearded gentlemen jumped on Barrett withoutins: under its own lighting sys-! mercy in the sixth, and talliedt‘-m. tallied three t'mes in the opening heat, hits by Jacobs, Scott and F.mraer, and errors by Barrett and Bill Dailey doing thefive times before Geiger could be sent to the rescue.
