ENJOYS BASEBALL GAME SUN DAY AFTERNOON AT PARK.Sprudeis Won By a Point, the Score Being Seven to Six—Sprudeis Will Play Return Game September 17 In This City.The West Baden Sprudeis maintained their reputation as a fast hardhitting ball team by defeating the Red Sox by a score of 7 to 6 in the presence of a crowd which filled every available seat and crowded the plav-ing field until it was necessary to establish ground rules on hits into the crowd. It was a great game and an ideal day. Roth sides were blanked in the first inning. Ellis scored for the Sprudeis in the second on his own two-base hit. and Bingam’s hit to center on which ne was thrown out at third. The Red Sox scored in the third on I^ett's single, Fiant’s sacrifice and Lawrence’s hit. The Sprudeis came back for three in the fourth on two hits, a base on balls and an error. The Red Sox set the crowd wild in their naif of the fourth when they scored five runs on six clean hard hits and an error. But the Sprudeis put over one in the fifth on Dis-muke's two-base hit to center and Lewis’ single to left. It looked like a victory for the home boys as both pitchers did fine work until the eighth, when the visitors tied the score on two hits and a wild pitch, and won out in the ninth when Hartley misjudged Lewis’ three-base hit which drove Sutton in with the winning run. The Sprudeis will be back on September 17 for a return game.
