The Race for the CuAMPio.\sniP.~This con* test como off yesterday forenoon. The course was a strait one—from a boat moored off the Magazine wharf to another ODe near George’s Island. Four boats started, viz.Emerald, pulled by.............B. Gallagher.Lady Stewart, do..............George Lovett.Great Eastern, do..............John West.Fidget, do...............J. Holland.Tha race wua easily won by the Fidget, She took the lead at startiug, and continued to increase the gap up to to the close. Tne Express pays:—“ The Champion was invested with thebelt by the Lady of His Worship the Mayor, and presented by the Commodore with a purse containing £8, being the interest of the amount invested by Dr. Cogswell for the purpose and the entrauce fees of the diflercut boats.”
