Daviau’s seventh-inning hit capped the game-winning explosion. Whispell lined out a pair of bingles. Jeffrey and Dick Newman poled circuit -louts with Newman belting a three-run homer during the last-inning outburst.Don Farley was the top slugger for the losers with three for four.George Cole and Frank Benenati slammed two each for a share of the honors.I Hits by Whispell and Jeffreypaved the way for a first-inning run by Mody’s but the Pill-Mould-ers bounced back with three via a walk, error and hits by Farley and Jones.Mody’s wiped out the 3-1 Norwich Pharmacal lead in the second with the first of its two six-run blasts. The half-dozen scores came on just two hits but one of the blows was a circuit clout by Jeffrey. Bennett’s single, a walk and three errors contributed to the spree.In the third the Pill-Moulders made it a 7-5 game with a two-run blitz. An error and base-knocks by Farley and John Ebo-vicz produced the runs. Successive hits by Ken Daviau and Whispell gave Mody’s a run in the fourth.Trailing 8-5, the Pharmacal hustlers unleashed a four-run attack in the fifth to sweep into the lead. A walk, singles by Benenati and Farley and doubles by Cole and Ed Abildness sent the runs across the plate.
