ALL-STARS HOLD HOUSE OF DAVID TO 4-T0-0 SCOREThe Huntingdon All-Stars, playing their first night game, gave a good account of themselves by holding the fast House of David baseball team to the low score of 4-to-0, on the P. R. R. field last night. A crowd estimated at 3000 witnessed the game.Miss Jackie Mitchell, pitching the first inning, held the local boys very much in check, and proved to be by far the best feminine hurler in baseball. The play, ing of Jacobs was the outstanding feature of the game; his stops and throws from any angle of the field gave the fans plenty of thrills. The old pepper act also met with the fans' approval, and was well applauded. The All-Stars’ starting lineup kept on even terms with the House of David team for five innings, as Bill Emfleld held them to four hits during the first Ave frames. The infield of the local boys played a brand of bail that left nothing to be desired. Arnold Greene made stops that almost seemed impossible. At the start of the sixth inning the All-Stars put a new team on the field and inning after inning a new battery faced the House of David1 club. Wingate pitched the sixth and gave a very good account of himself. Mench followed, and did not fare so well. They scored three runs off him and he had to be relieved by Allan Hoover, who in turn retired the side without further scoring and then pitched the eighth without any trouble. Skeet Streightiff pitched the last, and he also showed plenty, retired the side in 1-2-3 order. He struck out the second man to face him.The management of the All-Stars wish to thank firemen and police for their co-operation in jiandling the large crowd, and the umpires for their handling of the game. Bill Gremer did an efficient job of scorekeeping.House Of Dark!abrhoaJacobs, 3b31014Scott, ss51110Cross, lb412100La Felur, cf30030Holland, rf4121UEmmer, 2b50232Miller, If30300Anderson, c40070Mitchell, p00001Fenton, p30112Total3 6410279H.
