D., Aug. 17.—Scoring i a run in the last half of the ninth Finning here Wednesday evening, sBeulah's baseball team earned a C2-2 tie with the improved Dick- 1lt;inson Cowboys. EThe game was called at the end j bof the ninth because of darkness. cBeulah will face Bismarck here Thursday evening at 5:15 o'clock r(M. S. T.) ISatchell Paige Is Selected All-StarSatchell Paige, Bismarck’s Negro hurler, has been conceded the honor of pitching for the East in' an all-star colored game against the West at Comiskey Park, Chicago, Sept. 10—but he won’t be able to fill the engagement because he is scheduled to jpitch against Beulah here on that (day. nWillie Poster of Chicago has . been conceded the pitching position for the West team. Williecis expected to pitch for James- Jtown here Sept. 2, 3 and 4 in a series against Bismarck.Only two other players are conceded positions on the all-star teams—Josh Gibson of the Pitts- 1 burgh Crawfords and “Turkey’* Stearns of the American Giants of Chicago, both heavy-hitting Joutfielders.The remainder of the lineups will be selected by popular vote. JThough most of the stars elected will come from the national colored league, the field is open to all Negro players in the United States.The game will be sponsored by the Colored National Association, of Professional Baseball Clubs, with Gus Greenlee of Pittsburgh in charge.About 40 different nationalities are represented in the United States.
