TWO LOCAL STARS ADDED TO TERRABILL FECHTER AND JIG OS BUTLER WILL PLAY AGAINST HOUSE OF DAVIDWith Bill Fechter and Jiggs Butler, two local favorites, to strengthen the lineup, Terra Aqua will play the House of David at Taylor park Friday in a twilight game.Fechter, a fielding genius at first base, has been obtained by Manager John Winter for use against the House, while Butler may be used in the outfield, on third, or at shortstop. In their third and last visit to Taylor park, the House of David players will face a left-hander in the personage of Carl (Keno) Arndt, 20-year-old puzzler whose skill with the horsehide-covered ball of yarn needs no mention. In their last trip to Freeport, the House of David hit three home runs in succession off Young and Butler, then had its hands full beating Terra Aquans, 9-8.The local nine outhit the House and Terra Aqua’s fielding was superb, but a lack of hitting with men on bases was noticeable. However, with Arndt doing the pitching and the reliable Fechter and Butler in the lineup, Terra Aqua stands a good chance to overcoming the one-run superiority of the House.Just who will compose the remainder of the starting lineup is anybody's guess so far. But Winter has until Friday to plan his game, and he may produce a winning combination.
