(UPD — Mike Souchak held a commanding three stroke lead going into today's third round of the $25,000 Motor City Open and the long-hitting former Duke football star credited a change in his putting style for his blistering 10-under par pace for the first 36 holes.Souchak, 32, who plays out of Grossinger, N.Y.. tied a course■record with a sizzling 63 Fridayand had a 69 in the opening round for a 132 total.That put Mm three shots ahead of Arnold Palmer, Loginier, Pa., who was at 135 with rounds of 69 and 66.Souchak and Palmer were afibring the putter back along £ turf, before I was lifting it ai my puting wasn’t too good.The change has paid off har somely.
