Elk Point had won a game with Lennox, !S. D., the same afternoon and some of the Hawarden lineup played with Hudson during the day, so a lot of the players were lacking their usual pep that night. The game was quite a disappointment for one of the largest crowds of the season.O'Connor for Hawarden struck ouc 12 batters and allowed 4 hits during six innings on the mound. He also did well at the plate, with a homer in the first- and a douible in the sixth. He was relieved at the start of the seventh by Bowden.Tuesday night's encounter was a more interesting ball game. Hawarden got two runs in the fourth, but all the rest of the scoring by both teams was done in a wild, hectic seventh inning, when each team tallied four times. In that frame, the Blue Sox turned two hits and a couple of walks into their four runs, but the Livestock Exchange gathered their quartet of tallies on an assortment of fielding errors, overthrows and walks, without a single hit.Akron Here Sunday Night Akron and Hawarden will clash on the Hawarden diamond 'Sunday night.
