BRIGHTON.August 33.. A moft beautiful fcene was difplayed on the water yefterday about three o’clock: A great many vefTels.flarted for three different prizes* confiding of new Sails of different magnitudes and Value.The Prince of Wales, and the Dukes of York and Clarence, accompanied by a numerous pairy of Nobility and Gentry, weut on board the Dieppe Packet, from whence they had a full view of the moving and varied fcene.The Right Hon. Col* Pelham gave a complete-Set of Sails to be failed for fay boats em-the Brighton Fishery; aftdiiirely never #ere difplayed to public view* a more charging fight than what now exhibited itfeifon the water, the Steine, the windows of the adjacent buildings, the beach, and the whole range of the cliffs, from one end of the town to the other, crouded with perfons, hories, and carriages; while, as before, on the land, Long live the Prince !—God blejs the Prince !—-May vie Prince live for ever !—reverberated from veilel to veffe), and from cliii to cliff.The Boats were divided into three Clafles.✓The Firfi Clafs, to confiflof boats from 24 to 27 feet in len. th ; the winner, in this clafs, to receive a Fore-fatl and Main-jail, large enough ,or the uie of fuch winning boat.The Second Clafs, to conlift of boats from 21 to 24 feet in length; the winner to receive a Square jail and Gaff Top fail.The Third Clafs, to confift of boats of every description under 21 feet; the winner, in this clafs, to receive a Gib and Mizen-fail.The fortunate boat of the Firit Clafs was tLe China Bowl, Mr. Benson, Mailer.His Royal Higlinels and his Suite attend J$this beautiful Marine Proceflion in the Packe^oar, which has he honour to bear the name of t e frrinceis Royal, commanded by Cap.am very aoie- aati ieaufanV ’w^ .received feveral handfome compliments as wdi from the Prittce as from the Royal Sailor—and .the former has ordered a new jacket and trowlers to be prefented to each of the crew.When the Sailing Match was over, and the . prizes adj-udged to the victors, the Prince and his Party returned to the Royal Tent on the verdant plain, where a mod fumptuoiis and elegant dinner was ferved up with the utmoit talie and regula-ritv,The King’s health, followed by u God fave the King,55 which was performed by the famous Band of the Duke of York’s regiment.—Then the Prince of Wales and the Co.iflitution^-the Duke of York and the Army—the Duke of Clarence and the Wooden Walls of England —followed by Rule Britannia:—The Whig Intereft throughout the Kingdom—and many great and popular Members of botii Houfes ot Pailiamenf.From this fplendid entertainment the company adjourned to the luperb and magnificent ball and lupper at the great cgaaws at the Caltle, given by the Dukes ot Yc^kand Clarence in honour of the dav, ancl as an additional m^rk ot that fraternal affection for which they are lb juftly celebrated.
