Quite an exciting game of base ballwas played on Hock well’s Green last Saturday afternoon, between two juvenile clubs—the “Carolinas” and “Aikens’ of this place. Seven innings were played, resulting in a score of 38 to 23, in favor of the “Carolinas.” The“Aikens”had only seven men against the firstnine of the “Carolinas”—thus laboring©under a great disadvantage. Mr. W.Pardue, as umpire, discharged his duty to the general satisfaction of both sides. Another match game between the same clubs will be played this evening, on the Athletic grounds, on Ilarn-well avenue.
