Miss Andrews cut the Medina margin to a slim two-run lead, scoring as Bonnie Britton reached first on an error.Noreen Heazlit lined to Medina shortstop Kathy McClaning who fired the ball to Karen Stockman at first to catch off the runner for a game-ending doubleplay.Medina built up a big lead in the first inning as it shelled Brunswick, the starter, Miss Haezlit, for eight runs andscored for Medina and Brunswick pushed its run across on Pam Sebek’s angle, an error and a one-bagger by Patty Morris.Miss Vellenoweth was the winning hurler, Miss Haezlit the loser. Medina rapped 14 hits and Brunswick matched that. There weren’t any walks issued in the contest.Miss Fodor’s four hits paced Medina at the plate. MissDunning, Miss Popovic, Miss Abell and Miss Arnold eachpoked two hits.Brunswick’s hits were spread around as Pam Sebek and Miss Morris were the only batters to collect two hits apiece.* * *Parma beat Erieview II 6-2as the Suburbanites poundedout 12 hits to Erieview’s 10.Parma scored two runs inthe second and three in thefinal two innings to ice thecontest. Erieview tallied soloruns in the fourth and fifth.Sue Borden led the winners atthe plate with three singles.* * *Gail Jones and CathyRusnov each belted three of Erieview’s nine hits as Erieview I romped over Sheffield Lake9-3.Erieview came up with six runs in the fourth and three in the seventh.
