SWANEY STOPS HERE SHOWING LENGTHY BEARDJimmy Nolan, former Springfield short stop, was in the Bridge Lunch last evening with another member of the House of David baseball team who had a beard behind which anybody could hide. Jimmy, who was as closely shaven as a head waiter, was asked if Moose Swaney, former Hartford pitcher, was in the same detachment of the House of David ball tossers as he, This Is Swaney” replied Jimmy, who smiled as he pointed to Moose who has had a bumper hair crop this year.Swaney and Nolan chatted of Eastern League days when Pittsfield was in the league and made- known that Moose Fuller, who was a great spit-ball pitcher for Albany a few years ago, is seriously ill in a hospital at Poughkeepsie.
