Thus it ended, as the Lions failed to score in the ninth.Collins and Gehr were the first men to bat in the first. They were retired on double play, from third to first. Kimberly got another double in the fifth, Reed hit to the second baseman who held the ball and waited for Gantter, touching him and throwing to first in time to get Reed.Regenfuss got eight strike outs and only allowed four hits. Lemmers also showed form. He struck out five men and allowed but five hits. Strutz hit one and walked four. Reggie hit two and walked three.
