BATTED ALL OVER THE FIELD. ?'A Regular Slugging Match—The Cumberland Bovs Knock Abbott Right and Lefand Meehan Fares Very Little Better-Only One Single Made Off or Jones.About seven hundred people saw the Cumberland boys defeat theWoodbury club at the Association Park yesterday afternoon. The game was onesided throughout, and was tiresome and uninteresting, as everything was in favor of the home team from the start. Deneen wentar.ndfirst to the bat, made a safe hit tousright field and made his first. Kuieriem followed this up by making a splendid hit over the third baseman’s head, making his first and advancing Deneen to second. The favorite Fisher took the stickii-next and made a two bagger, nearly j putting her over the centrefield fence and sent both Deneen andKnieriem home. Kelso went to the bat next and was retired whilerunning from home to first. Fisher took the advantage of this and started for home, when he was within six feet of home plate the catcher had the ball in his handand Fisher slid all the way in, making one of the best plays that has ever been on tlie Association Park. Pfarr was the next man to handleESn-the “shillelah,” he made a safe hitand got to first. Kelley was the next victim and was caught out 011a foul by Puffington.Hoffman took her next and madeica clean hit into the second base-man’s hands, and was put out while running to first. Puffington was the first man at the bat for the visv1--yISr-itors and was struck out. Pookerwent next to the bat, made Ja safe hit and scored while Meehan andColemau were retired. The score then stood 3 to 1 in favor of the home team, and all over the ground could be heard 10 to 1 on Cumberland. In the second inning bothclubs were cheesed. In the third Kelso and Fisher scored for Cumberland and the visitors were againblanked. The fourth inning was lucky for both sides, Deneen, Fisher and Kelso scoring for the home team and Coleman and llardy scoiing for the visitors. In the fifth, wdiichhas always been Cumberland’s unlucky inning, our boys piled up six runs, Knierem, Fisher, Kelso, Pfarr, Jones and Edwards scoring for Cumberland, while theMood-burys were put out in one, two, three order.
