Spencer gave the Pipestone lt;Mlnn.) Black Sox, a colored aggregation ol stars, n double trouncing when they won at Leach Field Sat-urtlay II to 4 and then defeated the famous Lefty Wilson at Arnolds Park Sunday € to 4. In the latter contest the negro pitcher, who let Spencer down with one hit at Mason City a month ago. was severely rapped In a couple of Innings but he struck out ten of the local hitters.Saturday’s contest was not much of a game, chiefly because Light-ner, who star ted the pitching for the 8oxf was not much of u pitcher. He lasted until the end of the fourth Inning and should have retired before. Jn the fourth Spencer got seven hits and seven runsand the ball game was on Ice. Hancock went in the box to finish, the contest and he was a better pitcher than his predecessor, holding Spencer to two hits for the remainder of the fray.Dinah Wright, late of Cherokee, started the game for Spencer and to him goes the credit for bath games, He retired In the fifth Inning uf the Saturday game in order to save him for the Sunday contest and the move proved a profitable one. A1 Cassell finished Saturduy*B game and Ilelnle 13k-berg, who has been on the bench because of a hum leg for several weeks, trotted nut to his right field position amid much applause.Saturday's game got off to a poor start whon three errors were committed by the local Infield In the first inning and a run resulted but after that the locals played tight baseball. The run meant nothing, however, by the way the homo tribe was hitting the ball. A run each in the first three innings was collected on solid swats and then came the seventh when the entire line-up smashed the ball all over the lot for seven runs. From then on the giiine coasted along until the finish, with the visitors counting a run hero and there and nobody caring.Manager John Hart and Tom Jln-Cufforty were the hitting heroes, each connecting three times and the latter also getting n walk, while Alee Rtiaaell and Fleming also had their batting eyes with them and connecting safely twice. The box score and summary:SPENCERmPaWwGrWLIfilt;HttowsaWFiflfod?rlt;it)hflt;uiuiSdadStlhaPfttitABRHPOAERage rs, «s .....103»»+*1Owen, rf, If ..... . 421100MoCufferty, 3b ... 43311fjHart, lb ......... r131111Pratt, 2b .......00351Russel 1, of .....40•)000Cassell, If ........ 401130Iteming, e ....... 41*lt;510Wright, p ......nt1030Kkberg, rf ...... . 1U0100Totals .......3711131 r~1IS313 LACK SOXABnHPOAEOrcyson, rf ...... 3i0000Joseph, 3b ....... 100010Hilton, 2b, bh ..4i14*iftPalmer, lb, ci*410Hancock, sa, p .., 401flf)1Whitfield, c. 2b. . 300M11Wright, of .....411o*401Lightner. p, lb ... 3fl3700Green, If ....... . 400r10Totals .....4f)24113Summary—Two base hits, McCaf-ferty 2, Hart.
