Sarasota City Pier, are eligible to compete in the Fish-Off, according to Earl Dtbb. registration chairman.All participants are uiged to read carefully the rule book governing the tournament. Rule books are available at the Chamber of Commerce or where registration cards are sold. This includes nearly all fish camps and resorts along with boat and bait businesses from Anna Maria to Boca Grande.Downtown locations where rule books are available are Orange Blossom Hotel, Whiteway Reatau*rant, and City Pier.Since the rules state clearly that only those fish weighed at the Pier are eligible for top prizes, and since the rule has been in effect from the beginning of the 17 year old tourney, the SITT committee has no alternative except to abide bv the rule. Though fish are weighed at sub-weigh stations, all of which are listed, they must still he weighed at City Pier to be eligible for top prizes :To give anglers an even break the rule book states that fish weighed at sub-weigh stations may be transported to the mam weigh station. City Pier, in any way the angler sees fit.Unfortunately, a few anglers have assumed that weighing-in at a sub-weigh station qualified them for top prizes and the partic ipa-tion in the FLsh-Off knd didn't c^irck in at the main weigh ata-tion, ;Still lead in* the tounn‘1 Is New!Taylor whose 133** pounder was weighed at the Pier although hiswife s 90 pound tarpon was weighed at a aub-station. Her catch is eligible for a daily or weekly prize, but cannot be entered as a regular tournament fish; therefore she is not eligible to compete in the Fish-Off unless she catches another big one before Aug. 15 and weighs it at the Pier, before, noon of that day, deadline for entering catche* in theregular tournament.It was stressed by tournament officials that the combined weights of regular tournament fish and Fish-Off entries determine who wins the top prizes; a 1957 Plymouth auto, a Fenne Waterbird boat on a TeeNee Trailer with a Johnson electric motor, and a Mastercraft boat with a Buccaneer motor mounted on a TeeNes Trailer,leading c«»ntender for thr ( Harter Boat Captains prize. S200 cash, is Captain Ben Seale, and Bernice Barber is still in the running forthe Small Fry Prize, a bicycle.In line for Lady a Prize, the Colonel B, J.
