He joined Connie Mack in ID03 and was with the Athletics until 1015, when he joined Baltimore of the Federal League. In 1916 and 1917 he was with the Philadelphia Nationals. In 1918 he tried to join, the •Marines but was turned down, so worked in•the Hog Island shipyards; also pitched ball for the shipyards.club.In 1919 he managed Richmond in the Virginia League, pitching three games a week, and played outfield.
