Mohawk Browns 5— Eclipse 2.The spectators who went to the Cincinnati Ball Park yesterday to witness the game between the Eclipse, of Louisville, champions of Kentucky, and the Mohawk Browns, were treated.to one of the liuest and most exciting games played here this season.- * . .The Browns lost the toss and went to the field. The Eclipse were retired in one-two-throe order in the first two innings, and in the third Blue got to first on a fumble, and scored on a hit by Browningand a wild throw of Williams to Smith.The Browns went out in the same way until the sixth inning. Ewing, who made a two-lm.se bit, but was put out at third by the flue fielding of Bold, Pttefter and Browning, was the only man to see first. After this, the Ecltpso got six nieil on base.’, and the Browns four, neither side being ableto score until tlie ninth-inning, when, after Wio-niau was out, Williams- was given a base on balls, Deagio hit for two bases, Merncy went to first on art attempt to field Deagle out; Williams scoring. Smith went out to left field, Carey’s base-hit bringing in Doagle, Ewing was put out at first, making the score 2 to 1 in favor of the Browns, with the Eclipse to bat.Pticfier's hit for two bases and Reccins’ similar hit scored another run, tying the score.In the tenth innfng, Oeliler made first on a wild tin ow, and scored on Meyer’s out aiul Wie man’s, hit; Williams also scored; making three runs. The Eclipse had six men at the bat 1n this inning, who made two hits, but were unable to score.The fielding of the Eclipse was the finest work done on these grounds .this season. Williams, Meyers, Smith, Ewing, and Merney did about allthe fielding on the part of the Browns. Following is
