PAGE 9 BANDWAGON, WEDNESDAY, AUGUST 10, 1977Tiger football practice tests players’ enduranceHOW LAND—Howland High School Tiger Football practice started Monday, August 1—a test of endurance and strength unmatched by other practices to follow.The 12-minute test is the hardest of all, the 40-yard dash is one of the more necessary ones performed. The 40-yard dash is necessary because it shows the quickness and speed that a player would have coming off die line.The 12-minute test isn’t hard to understand. It includes seven laps around the track (V* mile a lap) for backs and ends, G *6 laps for linemen, within twelve minutes.Eugene Merolla, a back, ran eight laps for the fastest time. Other backs and ends with eight laps were Scott Santucci, Pete O’Conner, Don Drennen and Jeff Weaver.Backs and ends had theTrack team slates meetingHOWLAND- -Howland High school crosscountry track team is having a meeting for all those who wish to be on the team this fall.
