Vok Drop Two In Recent ActionAfter Bellville lost two game to the Scaly Rebels Sunday, they salvaged two when they found the Sealy Volunteers at Baxley Field in San Felipe. They turned in 8-5 and 4-1 wins. The Vols had been scheduled to play the Settlers but San Felipe had four players in ailment and had to raneel.In the first nine inning game, the Vnls and Bellville played close staying at a 5-5 tie until the eighth inning when Bellville scored three and went on to win it.In the second game, a seven inning affair, the Vols lead 1-0 for sometime. Again Bellville pulled it out.Offensively for the Vols, it was Melvin Pechaeek who could only play during his lunch hour and had to be back at his job as life guard at the SFA State Park Pool within an hour. In his two times at bat he hit one out and another for a tripleRosco Stastny, Ronnie Machala, Johnny Rychlik and dene Gajewski played cutstandingly well and turned in some gems. The rest of the Vols sure did their share. Coaches had been woried because of the weak performance displayed against Bellville and Brookshire two weeksago.Against Brookshire the Vols defense rose to the occasion. They played with the persistence and drill of a World War II Chinese Fireteam and veteran servicemen can remember how awful they looked.But its only the Vols second year as an organization and they now are looking better each day.Next Sunday, the Vols play San Felipe Settlers at Baxley Field in a double header starting at 4:00 p.m. A standing room crowd only is expected for these two games. In their last meetings the Vols took both 10-9 and 14-4.On August 19th, theVols clash with the Rebelsin two games that will not only mark rivalry, but the end of the season as well.Three Austin CountyStudents on Dean'sList at Baylor II.Stephen Neil Meyers,son of Mr, and Mrs. E. R Meyers, Jr., of Route 3, Sealy, and a freshman at Baylor University in Waco, was among 649 students cited for their academic achievement. H e was named to the distinguisheddean’s list, having a 4 00grade point average. He is a biology major, one of 193 to earn such an average.Miss Nancy Renee Gaston, a freshman, and Deborah L.
