d'Valpo QueensWin StateChampionshipTERRE HAIJTR — The VatpO Queens won the state girls softball tourney over the weekend by defeating the Terre Haute lloosiers, 1-0 and 3-2.• Queens, coached by Dr. Jesse McCann, will advance to the Regional *,oumey in Pekin, lil.t where they will meet Jxuisville, e-lt;Ky., Thursday night. ri Sue Jones was the pitching star and Jerry Mouchan the hitting hero for the Queens in the two victories.Jn the first game last Friday night, .Tones hurled a three hitter in blanking the Hoosiers. The Queens tallied the winning run in the 5th inning on a hit by Jones, a sacrifice and a safe blow by Mouchan.in Saturday night's contest, the score was tied going into the seventh inning.
