He arrived alone on “business” in marked coh-trast to his arrival back in 1911, when he tumbled off the train with the Philadelphia National League baseball club. IThe famous old pitcher is lone- j some. He admits it. j“There’s no use denying the facts,” he drawled. “It seems mighty strange being here alone without the boys, the excitement of before-the-game time, and my bag seems strangely empty without any baseball equipment.”“But I’m hot through with baseball. It may think it’s through with me but it’s wrong. I hope to be in there winging ’em across for a major league outfit'next year. I plan to go to Hot Springs about six weeks before the 1931 season starts and try and get in shape.”
