Stuart stood square oh the bag and caught the ball just a secondbefore the ranner reached him, and too late for him to slacken his pace. . Some of the Franklinites yelled “dirty ball,” but only for effect, as they eould^laiplysee that the affair could not possibly beavoided. Any one who knew Jkey would not think for a moment that he would ; intentionally injure anbther player* as he is one of the most gentlemanly players on our team.
