After gaining his release from the New York Yankees a year ago, Covey joined the Indians, but was later turned loose and took over the manager duties of the South Bend Falcons, a club that appeared recently at the Eden Springs park here against the House of David. Sunday Covey and his club will battle the Buchanan Blues at Buchanan.Alexander, who for more than 20 years was one of the greatest pitchers in major baseball, has been released by three clubs this season. After failing to prove good enough for the majors, the Philadelphia club of the National league, handed him his walking papers.
