HUGE CROWD WATCHES DAVIDHES TRIM NYACKBearded Men Final Winners in Free Hitting Contest Under Flood Lights.Over 2500 spectators packed the stands at the Clarkstown Country Club field and many parked in theoutfield, Monday night and witnessed 1 the House of David team win over 1 Nyack by a score of 16 to 14, in a 1 very interesting game. A two-base -ground rule, which accounted for num- : erous two-baggers, was effective.The game started in full blast when four runs were scored in the first ' canto by the bearded players. A fine leaping fly catch by , Cuccinello, second baseman for Nyack I which resulted in a double play fea-l Itured the inning.Both teams scored a run in the sixth, and Nyack again went into the lead in the seventh when a rally of hits were banged for five runs, but only to give the lead to the David team in the next frame when five runs were scored. In the last round, the House of David team chalked up another run, while they helct the local team scoreless during the last two innings.The hurlers on the Nyack team were Moore, Wilkins and Gardner while the visitors had Cohenhaven, Bennett and Cronk. Dumas and Sawyer were the leading hitters on the House of David team getting four and five hits respectively. Hesse and Cuccinello each got four hits for Nyack.It was announced that next Monday night “Bob” Grody and his Entente Club of New York City will be Ny-ack's opponents at the C.C.C. field. Grody was for several years the star pitcher of a Haverstraw team and is well-known throughout Rockland County baseball circles.i ; —-———— S
