LMBER.JOtNTEn SOUTHPAW SEBISS REVENGE FOR ONE Of FEW DEFEATSWiTIR HOPES FOR FORM SHOWN AGAINST HOUSEfttoekton to Present Several* Local Players; Rockford Aces Also In Cardinals LineupSteoltton, the team which dropped Terra Aqua from the Undisputed lead, again stands in the path of the Gardeners at Taylor park tomorrow. While Terra Aqua is battling the Cardinals, Shullsburg and Warren will be tearing at each other’s throats, and the locals stand a chance of regaining first place. If the fast-coming Warren Green-jackets engineer the upset of Shullsburg, something not so unlikely, Terra Aqua can regain the lead by beating Stockton. The latter feat, however, appears to be as hard as actually playing Shullsburg or Warren themselves. For Manager John Parkinson’s Cards have always been a tough hurdle for the Gardeners, and 1933 is no exception. Stockton’s 13-12 victory over Freeport proved that. The Cardinals are still hitting at a terrible clip, and it may be all Keno Arndt can do to set them down.Arndt in Great Shape Arndt has given his arm a complete rest, not having pitched since last Saturday, and the limber southpaw is In top shape. Keno has been gradually improving during the sea- j son. and Manager John Winter has j groomed him to be in his best con- j dition for the current set of games | with Stockton and Shullsburg. With Arndt hurling for revenge j and for first place, the remainder of: the lineup will probably be the same as the nine who stopped Elizabeth, 9-3, last Sunday. The only shift probable is the removal of Sherwin to the outfield to make way for EUis. The latter turned in some great in- i field work against the House of j David and also demonstrated that he is coming out of his hitting slump.Hope for Continued Form Manager Winter is hoping for a ■ continuation of Terra Aqua’s recent: form. The Gardeners showed their ; best play of the season against the House of David.Several local favorites., Butler, Weatphal, Luecke, Capone, and Miller, will appear at Taylor park in Stockton uniforms. In addition Stockton has drawn players from other nearby towns. A Rockford pitcher, Hal Storm or Frank Bonzi, will probably be on the mound.
