UWl/UIIV O'-*---Plur Some Rotten GnnctiThat hectic game gum® at the Park may or may not have left lta mark on the Spencer team, but Monday and Tuesday a pair of the rottenest contests ever seen at Leach Field were staged. They were rotten In so far as fielding and playing on the. part of the. home team were concerned, not because of the pitching or hitting. One of them was won because of the hitting but the other made some of the local heroes look worse thnn school kids and, naturally, it was decisively lost. Thirteen errors were recorded by the Spencer aggregation in the two games.‘ Out of six games played during the past' week, Spencer lost three and won three. Cherokee was the victim twice and LeMars once, while Gllkcraon’s Union Giants took two away from us and Cherokee got a third by a 16 to 0 trouncing. Since the latter, however, Ike locals have won two away- from Cherokee decisively. This week has been designated as “Baseball Week” In Spencer, which means that home lads eavert at Leach Field every day but one.
