The best from the western states ware represented, with an. eastern camp held in Massachusetts.Jaksa said he had a goad time at the camp, . and sinceRay Jaksa, of 8644 E. Valley View, Spent eight days in the California .camp, learning as much as he could about the game, of soccer. He was instructed by Olympic coach Julie Mendez, who with the help of his assistants, separated the boys, all age. 1547, into threegroups .Jaksa, a goalie, claims that the boys ate, drank,'and sfept; soccer, rising every morning at 6 a.m*. and retiring each night at 10:30._ Their training consisted of film's, lectures;everything was free, thoroughly enjoyed himself.‘ He was selected to attend- by the Arizona Soccer Association.Jaksa said he hopes to con-tiriue playing soccer, and perhaps try out for the U.S. Olympic team. Last yeat; three of the 25 boys from the western camp made the U.S. team,- Arizona is one of the few states in the nation which does not have soccer as a letter sport in' high school.
