INDIAN BALL TEAM 1 PLAYS HERE AUG. 16 jClilef Running Star.“Doc” Tichlofen, preside nt of j th© Burlington baseball club, has arranged a real treat for the baseball fans of Burlington and vicinity. He announced today that he has signed the Nebraska Indians for a game here against the Burlington Southeastern league tram on Tuesday, Aug. 16. The game will be a benefit for the members of the Burlington dubThink of it. The great national game, played by the original Americans, the Indian*. And tin players on the visiting team are real Indians. Many of them are rx-Haskell college stars, who since their college days, have won fame on the gridiron, and in minor league baseball. They lm\e a real dub, and ran put up some game of baseball.A feature of the game is the fact that men on the coaching lines do not wear the regulation baseball uniform, hut real Indian dress. Last season the Indians won games out of 134 played, so it. looks as though the Burlington dub will have to get up on it* toes if it wants to win that game And it wants to win it’ n the past Burlington teams have treated visitors rather roughly in exhibition games. They trimmed the House of David nine a. couple of times, and took other barn-storming troops into camp regularly. This year's team wants to keep up tho record.Don’t forget the date—Tuesday, August 16, at the usual hour at Athletic park. None of the boys on the Burlington team will have to pay income tax on account of the money they have made playing ball this summer, and this game is going to be for them. It is a chance for the fans to give the team a little lift if they care to do so
