t » : -- ■] TSFECIAL TO THE TIMES]1 CEDAR LAKE, Ind., Aug. 4.—At| a meeting of the Cedar Lake Motor Boat Club Saturday evening: committees which had been appointed to Attend to the preliminary steps for the water sports at the lake, August 15 and 15 reported evef^thing moving along nicely. More committees were named to have charge of various features of the big two-day celebration.Already ten hydroplanes have been signed up for the races and it Is likely tthat more will be listed“before the entries close. Eleven loving cups have been donated by various persons in different parts of the county to be awarded winners ofdifferent events.Three cups have been set aside as prises for Venitian Night which will bs Saturday night. On this occa-aion every boat large and small on Cedar Lake will be decorated and participate in the gala procession. They will all meet at the south end of the lake and formed in a parade at 8 o’clock. They will move to' the north end where the prize Winners will be selected.Many boat owners are going to great expense in decking out their floats for the evening. The end of the lake will be brilliantly lighted and many of the boats will furnish their own illumination. There will be penty of red, green and white flares and roman candles. On reach-air movie slilt;$w furnished by Frank H. Clifford of Chicago. ISaturday afternoon the first set of races will be held. There will be four hydroplane events and there Will be outboard motorboat races. The high powered runabouts will also do stunts. No little interest centers about the acquaplane races In which the daring riders balance themselves o nsurfboards attached to speeding motorboats.Sunday afternoon five hydroplaneevents, speed runabout stunts and♦aquaplane riding will be on the bill with the championship outboard motor contests. These races are being put on under the sanction of the Mississippi Valley Powerboat association which will furnish the official* to conduct them.Tbs Mouon railroad is running gpecla! excursion trains to the lakefrom Chicago.
