A fielder’s choice load-ed the bases again and George Seiler singled to drive in two more runs. Bucklin flied out to end the inning.Swanne and Nuzzolese blanked the opposing hitters the rest of the game with the score remain, ing the same.Dave Petley got the Research’sfirst hit of the game with two outs in the sixth inning spoil-ing Nuzzolese’s bid for a no hit game.The Research gave it a good try loading the bases in the last two innings, but it was of noavail.The Norwich Shoe Company after being down 2 to 0 at the end of five innings erupted for four runs to take a 4 to 2 lead.The GLA had scored its runs in the first and second inning on RBI singles by Carl Colton and Jerry BrownelL A catch by center.fielder Dave True saved the Shoemen from further disaster as he made a diving catch of a sinker liner hit by Hil-singer with two men on in the third inning.In the sixth the Shoemen came to life with four big runs. Three hits, one by C. Crosby with the bases loaded accounted for two of the runs, with a walk and a hit by winning pitcher Sal Mirabito driving in the other two runs of the frame.GLA scored two in the bottom of the sixth on errors by the Shoe infield to tie up the score going into the eighth and deciding inn-ing.Three straight hits loaded the bases with no outs Jn the top of the last inning and a single by Shelly Griffen plated three runs which was the final margin of victory.
