MIIW4.UKBX, August 1, 1870 To the Honorable the Mayor and Common Council of the City of Milwaukee. Gentlemen:.From the 18th to the 22ad inst. a grand festival of all the Turners and .aharpaaoot.-era’ associations of the state will be held in our oity. From present returns we may expect to s?e onr streets thronged by thoaav ands of visitors from abroad. Extensive preparations have been made by us, and the community at large to extend a hearty welcome to all.The executive committee now begs leave to invite the honorable representatives of our oity government (to join in these festivities, and to cause the city hall to be decorated for this festival, and if convenient, to be illuminated also, on the occasion of the grand torchlight procession on Augu3t 18:hi.The particulars of the programme wa will have the honor of bring to your notice through the public press.‘ Very respectfully, your?,Emu.
