Indians Take 2From Buffalo, Lead Now by 6By United Press InternationalIt's beginning to appear that Indianapolis is not in the same league with the other nine clubs in the International loop, which is not surprising, because the Indians were definitely not in the IL last year.As a matter of fact, they were in the American Association where they ran away with the 1962 pennant. And they’re threatening to do the same thing in the IL this year.Wednesday night the Indians went on a home-run rampage in sweeping a doubleheader from Buffalo for the Tribe's ninth and loth consecutive victories. That gave them a solid six-game lead in the laague’s Southern Division.Ken Berry slammed his fourth home run of the year in the top of the 10th inning to propel the Indians to a 7-6 win in the nightcap afteri the Tribe had routed the Bisons In the opener, 9-3,Rochester clung precariously to its half-game lead in the Northern Division by edging Atlanta, 5-4, while the Syracuse Chiefs toppled Jacksonville, 6-3.Iti other games, Toronto routed Arkansas, 14-2, with the help of four round-trippers, one a grand-slam shot by newly acquired Harry Chiti; and Richmond and Columbus split a doubleheader, with the Virginians taking the opener, 1-0, on Billy Muffet's three-hitter, and the Jets grabbing the nightcap, 8-6, in 11 innings.The standings:Northern DivisionW.
