And they’re threatening to do the same thing in the IL this year.Wednesday night the Indians went on a home-run rampage in sweeping a doubleheader from Buffalo for the Tribe's ninth and loth consecutive victories. That gave them a solid six-game lead in the laague’s Southern Division.Ken Berry slammed his fourth home run of the year in the top of the 10th inning to propel the Indians to a 7-6 win in the nightcap afteri the Tribe had routed the Bisons In the opener, 9-3,Rochester clung precariously to its half-game lead in the Northern Division by edging Atlanta, 5-4, while the Syracuse Chiefs toppled Jacksonville, 6-3.Iti other games, Toronto routed Arkansas, 14-2, with the help of four round-trippers, one a grand-slam shot by newly acquired Harry Chiti; and Richmond and Columbus split a doubleheader, with the Virginians taking the opener, 1-0, on Billy Muffet's three-hitter, and the Jets grabbing the nightcap, 8-6, in 11 innings. The standings:Northern DivisionW.
