SECURITY WINS OVER WOODMENShaffer Hurls Good Ball— Double Play in Final In ning Saves Game“Lefty” Joe Shaffer, recently signed by Billy Doyle, of the Detroit Tigers, worked for the Security Tigers last night against theWoodmen of the World in a Washington County League game and gave a great exhibition, allowing but a few hits and but for bis streak of wildness in the ninth inning would have breezed through an easy winner. The Security team won 4 to •*’ to keep their roc ord for the second half intact without a defeat.Shaffer, who has not worked in a regular game for some weeks, had everything a hurler could ask for with the exception of control in the final stanza.A fast double play, breaking up a squeeze play in the ninth inning-with tiie bases loaded and one run nedod to knot the count, ami on' out, gave the Tigers a victory, Trovinger finished the game foi the Security nine.
