Armstrong, manager of the Chicago Automobile Polo association was in the city and made arrangements with the Princeton base ball association to bring his polo teams her* 4 on the 12th and 13th of August tor two games. They will bo played at the West Side ball park in the afternoon of each day. The teams come to Princeton from JStroator where thov are to put on the games the day before.Princeton was suggested as a possible place for holding the games by C. a. Comiskey who had his White box team hero sevorai weeks ago. They piay polo in automobiles and this is Without a doubt the most daring game that . has ever been attempted in this country.Football is rough, baseball is scientific, automobile racing has spicy essence of danger, polo is thrilling to watch, but take all the salient features of these sports and combine them in one and tiie result is automobile polo.It is almost inconceivable that polo can bo playeu in automobiles. Yet it is nightly being exemplified at Indianapolis ball park to the satisfaction of one of the most critical audiences that has been a committee of the whole to diagnose a sporting innovation.'1 ho cars are thrown over by the* sharp turns that are made, but it is surprising that this does not happen oftened, as the turns are always sharp, some of them being accomplished in about Ilf teen feet. The game resolves itself around the ability of the man at the wheel. It is his work more than the mechanical swinging of the man with the mallet which is responsible for the victory, or defeat.rihe rules of the game are very simple. The ball is always in play, except when it gets into some impossible corner, or the like, and then it is put in play from touch back in a foot ball game.At the start of the game the ball is placed in the center of tne field. The machines start from opposite sides when the referee waves his hands. They travel at top speed towards the ball. For a time it appears as ii the cars are doomed to be telescoped, but just before the ball is reached, they swerve to opposite sides of the sphere and the mallet men try to hit the ball with their mallets. It is impossible to describe literally the action and the thrills which are possessed by the new' game.
