SPRUOELS TAKE THE FIRSTIn a closely contested game between the Glass workers and Spru-dels played at West Baden Wednesday afternoon the local boys lostout by the score of 4 to 0. The official report of the game is summarized as follows;West Baden, Indiana, July 30.—Some of the snappiest .ball playing ever witnessed in Sprudel park was seen this afternoon 'between the Loogootee team and the West Baden Sprudels, although the Sprudels gave the Loogootee aggregationnine big circules for their trouble. Williams, pitching for the Loogootee bunch, showed great pitching qualities. The nifty little southpaw.held his husky opponents to eightvery scattered hits, and but for afew child plays in the initial inningthe Sprudels would have fared well with one run. The game was a decided pitchers’ battle between Williams and Williams.
