This was the first invitational.victory for the Rockettes in several years. Mingo was fourth in the race with 38 points. In fifth was Green Mountain with 29, followed by New Providence in sixth with 23*2 and WeUsburg in seventh with 21.Steamboat Rock had tied Amana in the point race with a fifth place finish in the 440-yard relay, then took third with Amana placing fourth in the mile relay to claim their first relays title in several years.The Rockettes gained first place finishes in the 880-yard relay, the 880-yard medley relay and the 100-meter hurdles.Members of the 880 relay team comprised Joyce Geerdes, Lori VanHove, Nancy Burns and Cincy Geerdes. In the medley, Teresa Schallau joined the Geerdes girls and VanHove to claim a first.Burns won the hurdle event. Geerdes), 2:03.5.Netters Fall To NU HighCEDAR FALLS - The Eldora gals got their first taste of tennis competition here Tuesday afternoon, and as a result of their lack of experience, suffered a 7-0 loss to the NU High netters.For NU High, this was their fifth meet of the season compared to the opener for Eldora. Eldora coach Jim Riggs noted that his girls began to loossen up and hit the ball during the doubles matches.NU High swept all five of the singles matches. Cindy Hott defeated Eldora’s Beth McLean in match number one, 10-0. In match two, Jane Wilkinson topped Leslie Adams, 10-1. Match three saw Dian Gadbols top Kim Kirkdorffer, 10-0.In match four and five, Sandy Mehmen and Tami Bahr gain 1(M) wins respectively over Tami Granner and Sherry Eilders.In the doubles matches, Riggs noted Adams and McLean teamed up well against NU High’s Hott and Gadbois before losing, 10-3.
