Chinle Basketball Ace Is Named Prep All-AmericanEddie Brown, the high scoring Chinle High School basketball ace, has been placed on . the 1963-64 Prep All-American Basketball Squad chosen by COACH C ATHLETE MAGAZINE.\ 8rown broke all existing records at Chinle and set the Class B North Conference ablaze this past season. The left-handed Navajo youth scored an average of 29 points per game In conference play. He led his teammates to the 'Vfirst winning season in Chlnle's short history.The Royal Crown Cola Company which is co-sponsor of the Prep All-American team will a-ward a plaque as official certification of this honor.In the April Issue of Coach and Athlete Magazine more information will be given on the players who were placed on the Prep All-American team.Brown scored over I.OCX)points in his varsity career at Chinle under the direction of Coach Dale Hancock. Pie is one of the few players in the history of basket-baJl\n Arizona to pass this mark and tire first Navalo Indian to do so. \ .This Aggressive Navajo athlete also was sfc^ond team All-Conference in football and has been a \ ^mainstay this season on ^he baseball team.He also serves as«*i class officer. vice-president of theLetter-man Club, and In a recent school poll voted the Mpsi Popular and Most Athletic by his classmates.Eddie 19 the son of Mr. and Mrs. Tsosie Brown 'of Chinle.
