400 expected in karateopen at BCMore than 400 contestants from all over the nation are expected to compete in the second annual Berkshire karate open championship Saturday in the Boys’ Club gymnasium.Eliminations will start in the morning at 11:30 with the finals in the evening at 8.Thomas St. Charles of Danbury, Conn.. holder of a fifth-degree belt, heads the list of nationally known contenders. Mark Stockton of Pittsfield also is entered. He holds a first-degree belt.Tickets are on sale in advance at the Boys’ Club.
