Dayton sank to 2-5, 3-7 after losing its second extra-inning game this week.Dayton pitcher Karen Light-ner fanned nine of Shannock’s first 11 batters, and the LadyLions went ahead with four runs in the fourth.“We were swinging at some bad pitches early, which was an indication we were pressing,” said Shannock coach Keith Shatter.Down 5-2, Shannock rallied in the seventh to tie the game. Dayton then manufactured tworuns in the 10th, but Shannock stayed alive with RBI-singles by Vanessa Lewis and Missy Elko.Erin Stockdill then delivered the game-winner with a base-loaded single in the 11th.“This is the kind of game that builds character, to come back and win the way we did,” said ShalTer. “But we play Daion up there Thursday, and it will betough to come back and beatthem again.”Marla Buckley led Shannock with two doubles and two singles, and Lori Yackuboskey had three hits. Amanda Alcorn and Tracy Barnett both doubled for Dayton.Winning pitcher Angie Rocco fanned nine and allowed five hits. Lightner finished with a season-hiah 12 strikeouts.
